Conversamos con Yves Drieghe y Bert Pieters en Hektor Lanzarote. Un espacio seguro para artistas en Los Valles que nace de un proyecto de rehabilitación muy inspirador.

Speaker 1 (Yves): I'm. Yves I'm the host at Hektor, which is an artist residency in.
Speaker 2 (Bert): Me llamo Bert, y aquí en Hektor soy el agricultor y el cocinero.
Speaker 1- We have seen many places, on different locations, all with its own character, because that was the essential thing. We were looking for a house that had something. Something that, spoke to us. Could be the place, could be the location, could be the size. But it had to be something that surprises. we, I think we've seen 15 to 20, maybe even 30 places, and this one was on top of the list.
Speaker 2- Lo que queremos hacer con esta casa es que tenemos espacios común, pero también hay zonas privadas para la gente. Entonces tenemos mucho espacios. Hay tres o cuatro espacios y cada suite tiene dos o 3 habitaciones,1 baño al rededor de un patio, pero también alrededor de la zona detrás con con el jardín y la piscinita a Y queremos que cuando estás aquí o cuando te alojas aquí, tienes a espacio para pensar, para relajarse, para descubrir la terreno y la naturaleza. Pero también que hay disponibilidades de posibilidades, de encontrar o de encontrar otra personas también
Speaker 1- Structure wise, the house was already fine, to be honest. It had a nice structure. The rooms were divided, kind of f as we wanted it to be. so that was a big advantage to find this place because we already had the spaces and also we gave ourselves the challenge to work with what we had. So, we didn't make it bigger. We actually made it smaller. The house and we want it to work. We have this as a base and this is what we going to work with, which was a challenge, but we work it out fine and we had a nice architect to work with and, we had ideas ourselves, but we gave ourselves a challenge. Okay, this is the base, this is the house and make it work. That was the biggest challenge.
Speaker 2- Y fue muy importante es que hemos vivido. Hemos vivido aquí nosotros mismos antes de empezar a planificación y todo esto. Entonces hemos vivido aquí durante casi diez meses y que hemos hecho el plano a después de cuatro o cinco meses, porque de esta manera puedo realmente descubrir todo sobre la casa donde va Luz, como trabaja con el viento, con la luz del exterior y todo este. Entonces hemos hecho el plano a con el arquitecto técnico que después de ocho meses con el hemos buscado el contrato a que ha hecho la reforma de la casa,
Speaker 1- Bert and I have the same taste and colors and in material sometimes we never have an argument. It's always this is the direction we want to go. It's very eclectic. we have stuff collected in the past 15 years arts, graphic design, interior design.
Speaker 2 - Mezclamos la naturaleza, la finca, la agricultura o las artes a en un proyecto. Entonces pues puedes venir para descubrir designios o obras de arte, pero también para dejarse en la naturaleza, porque estamos en los valles un pueblo bastante pequeño en la naturaleza de la isla a y queremos hacer esta mezcla de experiencias.
Speaker 1 - Arriving here and coming here. I think it's a privilege to be in such a beautiful spot and to be able to live here and to I. Yeah. When you compare it to many different places in the world, this feels way more home than I ever had another place feeling like home. I see it as a privilege to be able to live in such a beautiful place. Everything is possible, but It's not necessary.
